Dustborn Takes You On A Thrilling Road-Trip

Traverse Alternate America and use the power of words both in talking and in combat

Just You, And Your Ragtag Band Of Misfits

Jump Into The World Of An Alternate And Divided America

In story-driven action-adventure game Dustborn, you play as Pax, a tough-skinned lady who’s been through a lot being branded as an exile, a con-artist, an outcast…and as an Anomal. An Anomal is a person who has the ability to weaponize their language, their words—gives a whole new meaning to words like daggers. Given a chance for a new life, she is newly hired for a simple-sounding job: transport an important package from Pacifica to Nova Scotia over at the other side of the continent. Road-trip time!

The thing is, the entire stretch of the continent is controlled by the authoritarian Justice, and fanatical Puritans are in hot pursuit. After all, you’re an outlaw, and turning you over to the authorities might just net them some good brownie points. This is turning out to be a harder job than one woman could imagine…that’s why you need your trusty ragtag team of misfits to help you out!
As Pax and her crew, you’ll get to explore the stunning Neo-Western architecture and landscapes of an alternate universe America on a tour bus driven by a robot, while pretending to be a punk-rock band on tour. While Puritans and the Justice aren’t hunting you down, you can stop at a good number of locations to take a breather and take in the colorful graphic novel-inspired scenery. Manage relationships with your teammates and the people you meet, complete other side missions, and face challenges.

Pack your belongings, assemble your crew, and get ready for a road-trip you’ll never forget!

Games Full Of Soul And Story

Based in Oslo, Norway, Red Thread games is an independent developer and publisher that prides itself on being storytellers that use video games as their chosen medium. Having already created wonderful games such as 3D adventure game Dreamfall Chapters and psychological mystery game Draugen, they are now working on survival adventure Svalbard and action-adventure narrative Dustborn.

The essence of their mission is to create “games with soul for a global and diverse audience of players who love stories.” They wish to release games that are handcrafted with love, and that features compelling narratives that tug at the emotions of the player, all with engaging game mechanics, multicultural characters, and vivid worlds that just let you immerse.

Dustborn Coming To You Real Soon

If you’re a fan of narrative adventure games with an action flair and combat, Dustborn might just be your cup of tea. The tale of a clan of misfits posing as a rock band on a long road-trip sounds like a unique premise that definitely would make others curious.

Aside from the stunning graphic-novel visuals, the game seems to be fully voiced as well, from the trailers. In a PAX East panel dedicated to Dustborn, the voice actors themselves have also praised the splendid world-building as they were participating in its creation. Voice-acting definitely lends a hand in creating a more immersive experience for players, thus resulting in an overall more positive time with the game.

Dustborn will be released on August 20, 2024 for PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One for $29.99 USD. The free demo is out on Steam right now!
