A Good Game Backed By Veterans

Bit Egg Inc. is a large independent game development and publishing company based in Thailand with offices in Chiang Mai and in Bangkok. This talented studio is one of the largest video game art and animation outsourcing studios in the country, and has lent their skills to stellar big-name clients like Square Enix, WayForward, Jam City, and Devolver Digital, to name a few. Their list of skilled employees have years of experience under their belt, with a majority of them starting off with US game startups. Currently, they are working on two games, namely mecha turn-based tactical game Zecha Tactics and of course, the animated hidden object game Lost and Found Co.

Through a X (Twitter) post, Lost and Found Co. director and developer NattyboyZ shared that the game found inspiration in titles such as fellow hidden object game Hidden Folks, cozy social simulation game Animal Crossing, and detective puzzle game Professor Layton. Besides the game inspirations, it was also evidently inspired by Where’s Wally. Taking their love for Western animation and anime and manga, the developers brought the best of the two together and created what Lost and Found Co. is now.

Earlier this month, the developers have recently celebrated their 80k wishlist milestone, after being featured in several websites including the Japanese site Games Park and British site Rock Paper Shotgun. “We’re amazed by how much our whimsical adventure of a duck-turned-human intern at a magical startup, helping people find their lost items, resonates with all of you as much as it does for us making this cute game!” Bit Egg shared in their announcement post on X (Twitter) last July 17th, thanking everyone for their support.

Spreading Lost And Found Co. Globally

Earlier this year, Lost and Found Co. was one of the lucky games to be featured in the Wholesome Games Direct 2024 portion of the Summer Game Fest, further extending their reach across the world. Through the Wholesome Direct, they released a whole new trailer and also launched the demo for all to play. The game has also made its way to China shores at the recently concluded ChinaJoy entertainment expo through publisher Gamera Games, where interested gamers tried out the demo through the interactive PC set-up in the booth. In addition, they even had Mei the goddess herself at the event, greeting attendees with a smile.

Of course, they also have spread the Lost and Found Co. love in their home country, Thailand, as well. Last month, they were one of the exhibitions in the THACCA SPLASH: Soft Power event, getting to meet many interested gamers and showing them more about the game.

Pre-Debut Love By Many

As the game is not currently out as of writing, most eager players would have to settle for the demo right now. Nevertheless, the demo itself is still jam-packed full of fun, as stated by the numerous streamers and reviewers who have shared their thoughts. Playtesters of the demo have praised the game for its adorable visuals, content full of secrets and easter eggs, and its nod to the hidden object games of their childhoods. Most of the comments called it one of their favorite Wholesome Direct demos.

Cute, Colorful I Spy

Let the game take you back to the days of I Spy books and computer games and Where’s Waldo with their charming and quirky levels full of fun. The game promises dozens of secrets and interactions hidden within the various objects in each level, which is always a joy to find. Those who have tried the game out describe it as a cozy Where’s Waldo or I Spy.

Despite the large cast of characters there may be based on the screenshots of the game, each character has been made with love and given a type of distinction, such as Granny Dryad, Daddy Payday and his daughter Penny, coffee and music connoisseur Mr. Winston, and the fearsome Ratz King. The game’s official X (Twitter) has posted sneak peeks of the characters’ lives through adorable video snippets. It shows the amount of effort each of the team has put in order to make this game possible.

While hidden object games might not be most people’s choice of game, Lost and Found Co. might just be able to change that perspective. It’s a jump into a charming little world that

Lost and Found Co. has no set release date yet, but is available to be wishlisted on Steam! A playtest demo is also available to play.
