GSQ Games is releasing a free major update, “Heavenly Chaos,” on Oct 21. For now, they released a teaser announcement about what’s to come with this update. As a lone cultivator, your original mission is to restore the Taiyi Sect’s dominance throughout the realm “by training new apprentices, gathering knowledge, and expanding your domain through commerce and political alliances to gain influence over other sects.” In your pursuit, you might even unlock the secrets of immortality.

The previous DLCs expanded on the game's story, mechanics, and narrative. For this free major update, you can expect increased difficulty as the laws of Heavenly Dao become more chaotic with each passing minute. As of writing, the devs did not disclose any particular details about the upcoming update.

However, the previous DLCs features like new bosses and the Sect War, force you to protect your school from ancient beasts and other rival sects. Given the current set of quests and obstacles in the game, you can expect a new and more challenging run with this free major update. Just like in Rimworld, you need to create your sect’s school or settlement to gain more apprentices and unlock new mechanics to further your cultivation pursuits. Despite your divine goals, you also need to nurture your physical needs. Grow or buy food and provide a bed to recuperate their lost health and energy. Enact policies to influence you and your disciples' behavior in the world. However, this is all for restoring the Taiyi Sect and reaching immortality through cultivation.

You might ask, what are you actually cultivating in this game? You cultivate points to increase your level. With enough level, you have a shot for Ascension. Challenge the very gods to gain a spot for the celestial seat and ascend into the Heavens. If you successfully complete the challenge, that unit will ascend and get a commemorative statue. If you fail, your character dies. In both cases, you will lose that character once they undergo Tribulation.
