Balatro Announces Mobile Port Coming On September 26th

“Productivity be damned!”

The Hit Roguelite Deck-builder Now Fits In Your Pocket

Balatro Anytime, Anywhere

That’s right, folks—Balatro is getting a mobile port! Last August during the celebration post on Steam for 2 million copies sold, there was a teaser for three major announcements, which were set to unveil slowly over the next few months. First off was the 2025 gameplay update, then secondly, the free Friends of Jimbo collaboration was revealed. Today marks the third announcement—Balatro Mobile is the last one to cap off the major Balatro announcements for this year.

Alongside the announcement on social media platforms, Balatro’s storefronts on mobile stores are now live! The game will be available to play on Android through Google Play Store and iOS through the Apple App Store and Apple Arcade. Players can purchase the standalone game for $9.99 on the mobile stores, or subscribe to Apple Arcade for $6.99 a month. Balatro itself will launch on mobile platforms on September 26th.

If you haven’t gotten yourself a copy on PC or console, or would just like to add another Balatro copy to your game library, mark your calendars for the 26th to get it as soon as it comes out! However, be warned: Balatro is severely addictive! Many working-class Balatro players are already lamenting over the incoming loss of productivity…

Developer LocalThunk “Apologizes”

In light of the Balatro mobile port news coming out, developer LocalThunk took to his personal X (Twitter) account to “apologize” for the impending doom of all workers and businesses out there with a simple “I’m sorry.” Many users poked fun at the developer, with responses like “How's it feel to single-handedly be responsible for the collapse of the worldwide economy?” and “You're an absolute demon for this. I have WORK to do!”, with another user joking that LocalThunk must be “the worlds greatest anti-capitalism activist.”

With all humor aside, it’s apparent that many people enjoy the game enough to sink hours upon hours into it. Several players shared screenshots of their total playtime, ranging from 20 hours (in three days) to 591 hours. There was even one X (Twitter) user who clocked in over 1,862 hours on said game. Now with the mobile port out, those who want to play Balatro in the comfort of their bed can do so now. There’s no escaping!

As posted by LocalThunk himself, “hippity hoppity your time is my property” is definitely a truthful statement. Despite all that, jump onto the Balatro hype train now if you haven’t yet!
