Chef RPG Lays Out Roadmap And Introduces Plans For New Game Mode
Festivals, fishing, and more to come!
Content Planned Until Full Release In 2026
Updates To Look Forward To
Chef RPG just released their planned major update roadmap for the next two years! Launched just last month, Chef RPG has been garnering positive attention in its two and a half weeks of launch. The player base is ever growing, and with a larger audience comes higher expectations. World 2 Studio is prepared to tackle those expectations with a summarized roadmap of what’s to come until the game’s planned full release in 2026.
“As promised, here is our roadmap for major updates moving forward. Between each major update, we will also continuously add minor additions to the game. These include improvements suggested by the community and fixing any bugs that pop up.”
Firstly, following its release in Early Access, the game is set to get a compatibility update this coming November for Steam Deck, as well as controller support for those who like playing their RPGs with a handy-dandy controller. Key rebinding options and UI improvements will also be introduced in the November major update. Secondly, in Spring 2025, festivals will be introduced into the game as well as world events, new bosses, new side quests, and an even deeper romance mechanic. Additionally, Chef Mode, the new game mode will be released! More details on Chef Mode will be tackled later.
Then in the latter half of 2025 comes the Fishing update with new minigames and a new exclusive fishing area, as well as bosses and side quests as well. Localizations to other languages will also be added this time, as the developers are “still changing a lot of the text.” Further details will be announced in the coming months. Then finally, in Summer 2026, will come the full version 1.0 of Chef RPG with a complete story, new city area, new characters to meet, and end game content to finish up with.
New Game Mode, Chef Mode
The introduction of a new game mode came from a “a lot of feedback from players who prefer a more challenging, faster-paced, hands-on restaurant gameplay as opposed to a relaxed hands-off experience. Our best guess is there are an equal number of players who prefer a more relaxed game versus wanting a more hands-on, challenging experience. We think the best solution is to offer an alternate game mode.” Originally patterned after the now-defunct Facebook game Restaurant City, the base gameplay (now dubbed as Story Mode) is a more casual, hands-off game which focuses on expanding and decorating your restaurant.
Hence, Chef Mode was born to cater to the challenge-loving players. Players playing Chef Mode will have to be more managerial with their restaurant, resulting in a “more structured gameplay loop” that is actually common in other games. Daytime for collecting ingredients and completing quests, then returning to the restaurant by night to serve customers. However, that is just the gist of it, and World 2 Studio urges players to send in their feedback to further improve on Chef Mode.
Tune In To The Chef RPG Soundtrack
Additionally, Chef RPG just released its soundtrack on Steam, available for purchase for $5.99 USD. With a total of 27 unique tracks to play for 57 minutes, the soundtrack composed by musician Tim Beek is sure to be a treat for the ears as you go about your day. More tracks will be added as the game updates as well, so keep your ears open for that!
If you’d like to jump straight into the game and begin your grand culinary journey, Chef RPG is available in Early Access, purchasable on Steam for $19.99 USD.
