After two years as an early access game, Door 407 recently announced that Diplomacy is Not an Option’s full release is on October 4th. In their full release announcement, the developer mentioned that players will fight more enemies and bosses. For instance, you can expect a large hulking enemy among swarms of the undead. However, it is not mentioned whether all factions have bosses in this game.

Aside from adding bosses, you must fight waves of massive armies. Consider that in the early access version, you can face over 25,000 enemies. We can expect this amount to increase on the game’s full release. With larger armies and meaner bosses, you can expect more challenging runs in this game!

What’s better than having more enemies? Adding varieties of them! In the full version, swarms of undead and crabs will assault your castle. Or you can become a necromancer overlord by setting aside your humanity and accepting the cold embrace of the undead. It is not yet confirmed if you can also join the crab faction.

Build World Wonders and Storm Other Castles

Door 407 also announced the addition of world wonders and the ability to attack enemy castles. Though there is no information regarding the World Wonders’ function, they might work similarly with games like Civilization VI. In this case, a world wonder might provide a buff to your economy or army.

Though defense is the best offense was the bread and butter of the early access version, you can now go on the offensive by storming enemy castles. Now, you can gather your troops and put your enemy to their defense. Full information about this game mechanic is not yet revealed. However, it is exciting to have another way to fight instead of defending your castle from waves of enemies. With these new additions, expect more chaotic but epic battles of grand proportions!

Prequel Release Date Teaser

Door 407 also announced the release of Diplomacy is Not an Option: Shareware. Its release date will be announced after the full release of the game. Since no definitive date is mentioned, it might take a few more days.

This free game follows the story of Duncan Ironbrow, the first of his generation to receive a title and plot of land. Though it is only a short game, this will contextualize why the factions are at each other's throats in the main game. The dev also titled this update post “Marriage is Not an Option.” They teased that this title is linked with this prequel version and the overall story of the base game.
