Drova - Forsaken Kin Devs Released Patch 1.0.5 On PC Alongside A Roadmap!

The game just keeps on getting better

The Future Of Drova - Forsaken Kin

Fixes, Tweaks, And Mod Support

Quest completion has significantly improved with this new update. Developer Just2D recently released Patch 1.0.5, a substantial list of tweaks and fixes to create a smoother gameplay experience. This update primarily addresses player feedback, making it easier to complete quests, navigate the game’s UI, and enjoy more balanced combat. Here are the highlights of Patch 1.0.5:

⚫︎ Fixed issue preventing stolen package delivery to Asmus
⚫︎ Fixed George Farm quests that could not be completed if Jurek left the location
⚫︎ Improved some journal entries to aid in quest completion
⚫︎ Adjusted NPC ability usage based on their level

The PS5 and Xbox versions are currently at Version 1.0.4.3, while the Switch version is at Version 1.0.3.1. The developers are working to port the latest update to these consoles this week, though they reminded players that Patch 1.0.5 must first be certified before its console release.
Just2D also included an accolades trailer, showcasing how critics and players have received the game. Beyond the critics' praise, the game’s Steam reviews are overwhelmingly positive, with 2,216 reviews at a 96% rating. This trailer not only highlights player reception but also celebrates the game’s successful release.

Three Upcoming Major Updates, Announced

In addition to improving the game, Just2D has released a roadmap for Drova - Forsaken Kin. Originally, the developers hadn’t planned to create a roadmap, but the overwhelming response from players convinced them to spend more time polishing and improving the game. The roadmap includes plans to address popular and practical player feedback, increase enemy combat difficulty, and introduce a new challenge. The first major update is scheduled for the end of November, the second for the end of December, and the final, beefier update for March 2025.

Alongside the roadmap, the developers announced they will not be creating a DLC. “We don’t want to come up with a half-assed cashgrab,” they shared. Instead, they’re committed to providing players with meaningful, free changes and additions through this roadmap. Notably, they also hinted, “Yes, we will focus on a new project afterwards.” Will this new project also follow the Gothic formula? Only time will tell.

Spoiler Warning: Discord Poll

The developers are currently hosting a poll on Discord to address a significant in-game issue. Spoiler alert: if you’ve discovered a way to enter the Forest Primeval and complete its questlines, you’ll skip Chapter 2 and advance straight to Chapter 3, potentially locking yourself out of a few Chapter 2-related quests. The devs noted that fixing this skip would negatively impact questlines and the world state, so a simple solution might be more practical. The poll focuses on removing the chapter number popup to reduce players' concerns about missing quests after skipping Chapter 2.

The devs also opened a discussion thread about the poll. One player supports removing the chapter popup to avoid “freaking out” upon realizing they skipped a chapter. However, another player argued that new players might still discover missed content through guides and forums, making the removal less effective. The devs joined the conversation, pointing out that directly warning players about missed quests when skipping a chapter could “kill immersion for some players.”

Considering the complexities of this chapter skip issue and the developers' perspectives, they’re open to all suggestions via the poll. If you’d like to vote and join the discussion, head over to Drova’s Discord channel and look for the poll in the “dev-polls” thread.
