Inbento Celebrates 5th Birthday With A Huge Discount And More

Five years of arranging cute bento lunches

Happy 5th Birthday To Inbento!

Birthday Blowout With Large Discounts And An Updated Key Visual

Happy fifth anniversary to the cozy bento-arranging puzzle game inbento! To start off the celebration with a bang, it’s getting hefty discounts across its available platforms! The game can be bought on Steam and its itch.io for a whopping 80%, the largest discount ever in its half-decade run. inbento can be yours for the low price of $0.99 USD, and this offer is only available until September 17th, so be sure to check it out right now!

If you would like to purchase the game on other platforms, the following is the list of where to purchase the game, for what console, and how much!

⚫︎ GOG for PC and macOS, 70% off until October 9 for $1.49 USD
⚫︎ Nintendo EShop for Nintendo Switch, 60% off until September 22 for $1.99 USD
⚫︎ Xbox Store for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, 50% off until September 9 for $2.49 USD
The game has also received a whole new key artwork, courtesy of Polish comic book artist Tomasz Spell, who has also previously shared his skills to celebrate the fifth anniversary of Afterburn’s golf-themed puzzle game, Golf Peaks. The adorable illustration features the game’s iconic mother-and-child cat duo having a good time in the kitchen, surrounded by food all made with love. It’s also available as a high quality 4K wallpaper for those who would like to have the heartwarming scene plastered on their monitors.

Version 2.50 Update Beta Is Live

Additionally, the version 2.50 beta can now be added into the game through beta participation! Enter the access code happybirthday in your inbento Steam settings to unlock the special anniversary build of the game. Developer Afterburn noted that this update does not introduce any new puzzle content or story artwork, but instead was “good opportunity to clean up some old code and introduce a bunch of features that already debuted in Golf Peaks and Railbound,” such as the long-awaited accessibility settings for reducing motion sickness, muting all audio, and toggles for unlocking all levels, to name a few.

“However, the main reason for this update was unifying the mobile and standalone (read: all other platforms) versions of inbento that used to live on two separate branches (because of how their user interfaces were constructed) into one, allowing us to make future work on the game easier. We don't have any content (read: new puzzles) planned for inbento at this moment, but if we ever wanted to add them, the work we put in over the past month will make it a bit easier.”
As this is a beta patch, feedback is very much appreciated and will be used to further the development of the full maintenance patch for the game. The patch will be fully wrapped up later this year, after Afterburn concludes ongoing work for their latest game, Pup Champs.

Again, happy five years of inbento, and much more to come! If you haven’t yet, make sure to check out inbento on Steam, GOG, Nintendo EShop, and the Xbox Store to grab your own copy.
