Manor Lords, now one of the more popular medieval city-building strategy games developed by Slavic Magic, has officially surpassed the 2.5 million sales mark. Released as an early access game in April 2024, the game quickly became a fan favorite, gaining momentum with a million sales in just 48 hours and 2 million by the end of three weeks which is a very impressive feat considering that this is an indie game. To celebrate this achievement, the game has released Patch 0.8.004 alongside a 30% discount on Steam as part of the Hooded Horse Publisher sale.

What’s Included in the Update?

Unreal Engine 5, Fishing and New Military Units

Patch 0.8.004 brings several exciting updates to Manor Lords that improves gameplay and graphics. One of the major highlights is the upgrade to Unreal Engine 5, improving the graphical performance and resolving many of the bugs tied to the previous engine. In addition to this upgrade, the patch introduces a range of new features:

　⚫︎　Fishing System: A new job, the Fisherman, and a building called the Fisherman’s Hut have been added. This allows players to establish a fish-based economy in their regions.

　⚫︎　Butcher Artisan: A new artisan feature for Tier 2 housing allows surplus sheep and lamb to be converted into sausages and introduces the Advance Skinning development branch which doubles the production of butchers.

　⚫︎　Food Spoilage: A food decay mechanic is now applied on items like bread, meat, and fish. These items will spoil overtime and are influenced by the weather and storage methods.

　⚫︎　Crossbowmen: Players can now craft crossbows and train Militia Crossbowmen as well as hire mercenary crossbow units.
