Intriguing Detective Game
Piece Together Memories To Solve The Case
Hey there, detectives—there’s a mysterious cold case that needs a cracking! No Case Should Remain Unsolved is now purchasable on Steam for 20% off at $5.59 USD. This visual novel-like puzzle game puts you into the shoes of former police detective Jeon Gyeong as she strives to solve a long-forgotten case about a missing child named Seowon, whose disappearance case was never fully solved. Twelve years later, a young police officer approached the now-retired Jeon, pleading with her to open up the cold case once again. And so it takes her on a peculiar journey…formed by a web of lies and deceit.
Using an imaginative reasoning system, players will be able to connect memory fragments together like a puzzle, uncover passcodes, keys, and conversations between those related to the case in order to finally reach the truth…or truths.
The two to three hour game features a monochrome-shaded pixel art, as well as a haunting original soundtrack by Seongyi Yi (Legal Dungeon, The Wake) that is surely a wonderful complement to one’s journey through time and memory, learning little by little why this disappearance is more than what meets the eye.
Tokyo Game Show Selected Indie 80 Best Game Design Award
Recently, the game was also able to win an award at the prestigious Tokyo Game Show 2024. Among the list of the semi-finalists in Selected Indie 80 exhibition in the event, No Case Should Remain Unsolved was part of the eight finalists, and was given a chance to present their games in front of a panel and in public viewing in the Sense of Wonder Night (SOWN).
Developer Somi was able to give a brief pitch on the stage for his game, and was even awarded Best Game Design! “I'd like to thank the judges for their selection, the attendees for their support during the pitch, and everyone I got to meet at TGS,” Somi shared his thanks in the Steam announcement post. Definitely an amazing feat for an amazing game!
And this is not the end of its accolades—the game has also been nominated for Discovery Award at SXSW Sydney 2024, and Best Overseas Game at INDIEPLAY.
