Radtown Comes Back And Water Well Upgrade!

Inspired by the myth of the Tower of Babel, Chants of Sennaar puts the player into the shoes of the fabled Traveler who finds themselves within a mythical tower. This tower houses five distinct clans of 'Peoples,' who have been long divided by fear and mistrust, and thus do not speak to each other.

Perhaps as a result of this, these Peoples have created their own languages, further contributing to the divide. But it is said that one day, an unknown Traveler comes to break down these walls and to bring peace to the Peoples. This is where the story begins.

Water Well, a mini-monument, was also upgraded. Now, it will contain a friendly NPC “who sells teas, tools, and even some weapons.” This location will also spawn planter boxes, and some might contain plants with good genes, perfect for your farming. Food crates might also spawn containing edible food and occasionally teas, so don’t forget to stock up and resupply in Water Wells. Take note that this mini-monument is unmarked on your map. Keep your eye out when exploring the Rust’s map to encounter these Water Wells.

Enhancing Rust’s Environment

The devs also overhauled and updated Rust’s environment to improve gameplay. There are also returning assets for more strategic base positioning. These changes are:

⚫︎ Cliffs - added tall coastal cliffs near the ocean and sloped inland cliffs on hills and mountains

⚫︎ Rivers - can spawn three rivers depending on the map’s size and added a current to speed up water travel

⚫︎ Desert - added oases with fresh water and lush vegetation.

⚫︎ Canyons - added in forest and desert biomes

⚫︎ Lakes - added three types of lakes, which might spawn a rowboat

⚫︎ Rock formations - brought back god rock, anvil rock, and arch rock and added new rock formations for more unique base building strategies.

Diving sites are also enhanced in this game. Now, they will be marked with buoys, which you can see on the water’s surface. These sites now have new graphical details like crabs, skeletons, or other marine creatures to make your underwater exploration more immersive. The diving sites are unmarked on your map, so watch out for these buoys. Beware of sharks when roaming around these sites!

The devs also added the DVP or Diver Propulsion Vehicle for safer, faster, and deeper water exploration. You can deploy it like a boogie board and only consume low-grade fuel. This is useful when visiting oil rigs or shark-infested diving sites.

New Weapon And A DLC Pack

Protect yourself with a new weapon, the High Caliber Revolver. This handcrafted, single-action revolver is built for long-range combat. Take note that this weapon has a slower rate of fire but packs a lot of punch! Make each shot count with the High Caliber Revolver!

A new DLC Frontiersman Pack was also added. These items will be added to Rust’s permanent store and available as the World Update 2.0 drops. Update your fashion with some old-world charm with these new and cool items! The Frontiersman Pack includes:

⚫︎ Frontier Hazmat Suit - a hazmat replacement skin with no in-game bonuses.

⚫︎ Frontier Hatchet - reminiscent of the tomahawk weapon, symbolizing life at the frontier

⚫︎ Blunderbuss - a classic frontier inspired shotgun

Charitable Relief Event

Facepunch Studios also announced the upcoming Charitable Rust event. The event will start on Oct 12 and end on Oct 13. However, the Twitch Drops will start similarly but end on Oct 19. They are holding this event to support Direct Relief, one of the charitable organizations aiming to aid people in conflict zones around the world.

This event will feature “shows, art contests, parkour, races, labyrinths, arcade games, and loads more!” Visit the Twitch Drops and Rust’s item store for some exclusive skins. “All proceeds from the four special item store skins will go to support this fantastic cause.” For more information about the World 2.0 update and the Charitable Rust event, visit the game’s Steam page or website.
