Shadows of Doubt 1.0 Update Now Live
1.0 Update Brings New Cases to Solve in the Dark City
Detective Sim, Shadows of Doubt Full Version Released with 1.0 Update
Discover New Cases, Labs and Cities
After spending time in a rocky early access and mixed review on steam, Shadows of Doubt has fully launched, along with a 1.0 update. This game is developed by ColePowered Games, where you play as a detective into a procedurally generated neo-noir city, reminiscent of classic movies like se7en (1995). In Shadows of Doubt, players step into the shoes of a private investigator tasked with solving crimes.
Shadows of Doubt Lets You Be a Detective in a Neo-Noir World
Shadows of Doubt is a first person detective sim that blends detective mechanics with an interactive environment. What’s interesting in this game is that every character has a name, job, daily routine, and lives in their own homes, similar to a real world. In this game, players can employ a variety of tools to solve cases, ranging from lockpicking, hacking as well as tracking fingerprints and reviewing security footage. Each investigation takes on a life of its own, with multiple paths to solve a case.
What’s New in the 1.0 Update Officer?
Kidnapping Cases, Cover-Ups, Laboratories, and New Cities
The 1.0 update introduces a wealth of new features designed to improve the game from its early access origin. One of the most significant additions is a new case type, Kidnapping. In this scenario, players must act quickly to follow clues and rescue victims before time runs out, adding urgency to their investigations. Another major addition is the Cover-Ups mechanic, where criminals may offer detectives bribes to hide evidence. This new feature brings moral dilemmas into play and forces players to choose between justice and personal gain.
Other additions include the introduction of Laboratories, a new place where players can explore to find clues and other items. The game also adds two pre-generated cities, Casablanca Quarter and New Lily-Crofte.
1.0 Update Brings Shadows of Doubt on PC, PS5 and Xbox
Alongside the 1.0 update, Shadows of Doubt is also making its way to multiple console platforms including PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. You can also view the entire 1.0 update in Shadows of Doubt’s Steam page. Shadows of Doubt is available on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam.
