Price Increase Will Be Implemented Ahead Of 1.0

Procedurally-generated sandbox detective game Shadows of Doubt is saying goodbye to Early Access and releasing its Version 1.0 on September 26th! This coincides with its console releases on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. As it leaves its Early Access state to be a full-fledged title, the developers have also announced a heads up that the game on Steam will increase in price from $19.99 USD to $24.99 on August 23rd, ahead of the 1.0 release. However, those who have already purchased the game beforehand will not need to buy the game once again nor pay anything extra.

Major Content Release Met With Mixed Response

Of course, as with any full release, developer ColePowered Games also had this to say about major content: “Our full launch comes with a big update that would make any private investigator twitch with intrepidation. We’ll be sharing more details on what to expect in the coming weeks, but for now, please take our word that there’s some really cool stuff coming your way!”

However, this announcement was met with mixed reactions, with some excited for its upcoming full release, while others are skeptical about it and calling the game unfinished. Many of those who disagreed in the Steam community log shared that they loved the game and its concept, but the bugs that plague the game heavily affect performance and satisfaction. Only time will tell if the developers will live up to the expectations with their major content update.
