Sky: Children Of The Light Holds The Tournament Of Triumph

Just in time for the Olympic season

Sky's Own Flavor Of Olympics

Bring Your Team To Victory

In light of the Olympics in Paris right now, wholesome social MMO Sky: Children of the Light launches their own in-game Olympics in the form of the event, Tournament of Triumph. The event begins on July 29th 00:00 PDT up until August 18th 23:59 PDT, closely mimicking the Olympics’ own schedule. It will feature their own lineup of games where players will be running, leaping, soaring, gliding, and scampering around the beautiful world of Sky.

The event will take place in a special version of the Coliseum, accessible through the Meditation Circle in the Aviary Village. When entering as a first-time participant, the Crab of Triumph will be right there to greet you and to assign you to a team, to which your contributions and plays will be attributed to and help in securing a victory for your entire faction.

Every day starting the 29th until before the closing ceremony on August 18th, two different sport-themed games will be available to compete in. Hint: speed is helpful, but it’s not always about speed! Participating in events will net players event currency that can be exchanged for in-game currency items, with one game equalling to one event currency—this includes repeat runs of the game. There is a limit of 25 event currency gained from competitions for the first ten days, then 25 more can be acquired in the second half. All users can get two event currency daily from the event area.
Exclusive Tournament of Triumph items can be unlocked and purchased from the Crab of Triumph, or from the shop in the main menu. Free trial spells will also be given out in the event area, Aviary Village Event Shop, or Home. Then, after over two weeks and a half of lighthearted competition and gaming fun, players can then all gather round at the Coliseum for the closing ceremony to celebrate the winning team’s victory.

“Tournament of Triumph is our way of exploring how we can introduce healthy competition in team events while staying true to Sky’s positive, cooperative nature,” thatgamecompany noted in its Steam community post. So don your team colors, and take to the skies in Sky’s grandest tournament yet!

Events Back-To-Back, Moomin x Sky This Fall 2024

Sky: Children of the Light (Sky, for short) has always centered around teamwork and connection as an open-world social MMO with a kind and inclusive community, hence the Olympic competition-themed event is nothing out of place. In fact, Sky just recently concluded their inaugural SkyFest, which celebrated the game’s fifth anniversary. It was an ambitious and large-scale event, happening both online for global players and offline in China and Japan simultaneously. This was to build an experience that could be shared by the entire community, nodding to its roots as a wholesome social MMO.

Looks like its streak of events is not over just yet, as it was announced in the SkyFest that the game will be collaborating with Moomin, which is said to come in Fall 2024. More details will be sure to come out real soon!
