Next week a beloved collaboration comes to Sky with Season of Moomin, a magical universe that blends whimsical storytelling with themes of healing, friendship, and resilience.

Moomin has come to visit! From October 14th to December 29th, adventurers can take a trip to Moominvalley and will be able to immerse themselves in the story of Ninny the Invisible Child, a beloved character from Tove Jansson’s Moomin universe, and experience her facing her fears and overcoming these obstacles to gain wisdom on the world around her.

Entering Moominvalley, you will notice your Sky child taking on the form of a butterfly, which symbolizes transformation and growth. You will then meet the Moomin family and their friends as you become Ninny’s guide through the valley, where her story will gradually be told, each piece bringing her closer to her true self. Parallel to you and Ninny’s journey, the environment will also bloom little by little into vibrant hues, symbolizing the change happening in Ninny’s life.

Seasonal Items In Store For Moomin Season, And Stories To Explore

Sky children will also acquire the Moomin Storybook, an all-around guide to the Season. It offers a new expression to express yourself with, and a cozy family portrait to hang on your wall. Season Pass holders will also have the benefit to unlock three Ultimate Gifts from the Storybook’s Friendship Tree. The Storybook is also where all the Moomin quests will begin, where it will offer more chapters to dive into as the Season slowly unfolds. Each chapter will have their own variety of quests to complete, and will also provide immersive and distinct perspectives through the eyes of the Moomins and of your own Sky child.

Along the way, you will also collect adorable themed items that perfectly encapsulate the Season’s vibes, such as outfits and accessories inspired by the Moomin characters themselves. Style your Sky child Moomin style with new capes, hairstyles, and even an instrument. You can also purchase ear and tail accessories inspired by the Moomintroll, and more outfit items that capture the aura of Snufkin, a free-spirited wanderer. A soon-to-be-announced Moominvalley-themed cape will also be available later on in the upcoming 0.27.5 update. Make sure to collect all these items before they disappear at the end of the Season!

Special Seasons

This type of special Season isn’t something entirely new—Sky: Children of the Light has done it before as well, with the famous novel The Little Prince and popular Norwegian singer-songwriter AURORA. These unique, time-limited Seasons “bring special opportunities to experience Sky in new ways,” living these experiences through a lens that can only be brought about through Sky.
