Snacko’s Biggest Major Update Is Here

“This is the biggest patch we’ve done since early access launch”

Revamps And Quality Of Life Changes

New Storylines To Discover

Snacko just released their latest patch, confirmed to be one of the most massive ones for the developers. After tirelessly working on it for two and a half months, developers Bluecurse Studios have released this major update which features revamps and reworks of several parts of the game, such as quest progression and quality of life updates with the UI. Here are the highlights of this patch, according to the patch notes:

⚫︎ Restrictions on villagers lifted: you can now have everyone all at once!
⚫︎ Blueprint shop and other recipes no longer all unlocked at the beginning. All new quests have been implemented to unlock content
⚫︎ Villager quests have been completely redone and new ones have been added
⚫︎ Villager dialogue pools have been reworked to give better chances of seeing all the lines; certain lines that don’t make sense to be repeated as you befriend them will no longer be in the pool (ex: Rejka being confused why you’re talking to him in the morning despite the two of you dating)
⚫︎ While saves are compatible, we had to auto-complete some new quests to keep your progression state into 0.9.4; you will also have everything unlocked inside the blueprint shop already
⚫︎ UI changes for expanded dark mode, including an all new quest system and UI to go along with it
⚫︎ Crafting recipes can be tracked alongside a quest on your HUD via the crafting menu or a workbench
“The way it was done and how many underlying systems needed to be completely gutted and redone was too many, so there was no way to “split it up”, so to speak. We’re really excited to add the new things in that we can have now that the foundation for Snacko is much cleaner and easier to work with. That’s something that will get more important as we add in more features and begin the work for multiplayer.” They concluded, teasing much more to come in the future.

With these new updates and new story lines to discover, players will for sure have a more enjoyable experience on Snacko Island!

An Indie Game Tailored To The Players

While indie games are already understood to be passion projects by brilliant and talented minds in the gaming industry, Snacko’s developers take the cake as being one of the developers who take an extra step to further refine their game by being close to their community. According to the Steam reviews, developers recursive404 and enralis are attentive to feedback and are responsive to player questions on their Discord or through email.

One certain player encountered a bug in their save file, and it was immediately fixed “within minutes” when one of the devs answered quickly and offered a solution. “Every time I've had an issue and posted about it in the Discord, the developers show up to help. They are incredibly dedicated to improving their game." Another review shared that the game made them a bit motion sick, and requested for some help to make it easier to play with. “The devs got back to me a few hours later promising to implement it in the next patch. Best. Devs. Ever.”

Their patch notes are also incredibly detailed and transparent as to what goes on behind the scenes in developing and improving the game. Bluecurse Studios surely are putting their heart and soul into the game, and also have trust in their players to help them achieve better with Snacko.

Snacko is available to play on Steam, with a Nintendo Switch release slated for release sometime this 2024. It has a special promotion discount of 20% off right now for the next two days, so go check it out before it disappears!
