Prepare your gun and deliver justice to otherworldly enemies in SULFUR, Perfect Random’s debut title. The game follows the story of a priest out for revenge after a witch blew up his congregation. After a frantic car chase to catch the witch, you lose control and crash into a tree, stumbling upon a mysterious cave system known as Sulfur. Your amulet reveals that the goo within this cave holds the power to rewind time and restore your church. Surprisingly, you’ll find a sword and a revolver as you journey through this godforsaken place.

In this “modern-yet-retro looter shooter” game, you face enemies with both gun and sword. Though you carry a melee weapon, you’ll primarily rely on firearms and their upgrades to deliver hardcore salvation to goblins, cult-like enemies, and other supernatural or bizarre creatures. During exploration, you can collect various enemy drops, enchantments, equipment, and food items to improve each run. Discover unusual gear like elf shoes or roller skates, and refuel with half-eaten pizza, a milkshake, or a bowl of fries. But is this “cave” truly just a cave?

Keep in mind that dying within this six-leveled dungeon, filled with diverse biomes (with more to come in future updates), will cause you to lose all loot in classic roguelite fashion. Despite its goofy visuals and lo-fi background music, expect difficult encounters with your enemies. Successfully completing a run, however, lets you return to your church, The Original Sin. "Here, you can stash your ill-gotten gains, catch up on the latest happenings, and trade with your congregation before gearing up for your next run," the developers shared.

The excitement continues to build as Perfect Random, the game’s developers, have shared a straightforward roadmap for future updates. Planned additions include four new locations, a Guns & Magic feature, and an Endless Mode before the full version 1.0 launch. These updates promise to make each run even more thrilling and challenging, with new ways to deliver your enemies from evil and explore fresh biomes. There’s also a stretch goal to introduce a multiplayer mode if the game reaches 200,000 copies sold.

“Our vision for multiplayer is a classic 'drop-in, drop-out' experience, allowing you to seamlessly join a friend’s game and head out on runs together.
