TerraScape Introduces New Content

A Strategy Game But Casual In Its Core

The kingdom building game that combines the best of strategy and casual, TerraScape, is now fully released through Version 1.0! A lot of whole new features has been added into the game, such as five unique biomes (namely Arid, Swamp, Thicket, Rural, and Urban), the addition of the a tree-like progress menu called the Deck Tree, new scenarios to play, and new legendary building cards and buildings to play with!

The game also has improved procedural map generation with different map shape variants, plus an entire reworking of the in-game UI and UX. Several bugs were addressed, and the overall balancing of the game was reworked. This may mean it will be less tedious to play for new players, but they have also added a new difficulty curve for TerraScape veterans who are looking for an extra challenge.

A Milestone Reached, Developer Says

TerraScape started back in 2019 as a student project by the developers who just wanted to “create something that both strategy game players and casual gamers would enjoy,” incorporating mechanics from both 4X games and small casual games. The game was released in early access back in 2023, marking an entire year of the developing and player feedback cycle, which then brings them to the present.

They took this time in the post to give thanks to all the people who supported them, saying, “Today, we are super proud of what has become of the small spark of an idea, and it has grown larger than we ever believed possible. We would like to thank everyone who accompanied us on this journey, were there in difficult situations, and stood by us as good teachers when we didn't know how to proceed.”
