Timberborn Wonders Of Water Update Live Now!
Aqueducts and overhanging canals, now possible
Dam, There’s A New Major Update!
Expanded Hydroengineering Tools And Wonders!
Timberborn devs Mechanistry released the game’s sixth major update. This time, you will have new ways to play with water physics as they transition from 2.5D to 3D. Now, “it is possible to run layers of fluids atop one another and over buildings.” Think about creating an aqueduct or a separate canal for the toxic Badwater. They also added an Impermeable Floor block to ensure that no water would leak from below when making complex infrastructures such as overhanging canals. Moreover, water of any type will look more fluid than ever to make water movements more realistic!
With the introduction of Badwater comes a lot of micromanagement headaches. However, this major update added automated Sluice to facilitate what flows out of your dams. You can use the Sluice block to direct Badwater to another river channel, preventing the contamination of your pristine bodies of water. Experiment with the Sluice block to make some fantastic dams!
Despite Timberborn’s high replayability value, you might want a more concrete end goal in your playthrough. Now, you have the ultimate goal of dispersing beavers throughout the planet or reviving its lost natural environment via Wonders! These structures are different according to faction: Folktails and Iron Teeth. These structures are quite expensive, so make sure you have the necessary resources before building them. For those who don’t want to leave their cities, you have the option to continue playing the game even after constructing a Wonder.
With that said, there are tons of changes and additions from this update. Here is the highlight of other features and content available:
⚫︎ New platforms
⚫︎ Vertical power shafts
⚫︎ Choose the start location after activating a Wonder
⚫︎ Official launch to Steam Workshop
⚫︎ Beaver tail customization (tattoo)
⚫︎ Added one map and updated the remaining 12 maps
Check out the game’s Steam page to check out all the changes and additions from the Wonders of Water update.

At the end of their Wonders of Water release announcement, Mechanistry unveiled their first-ever Makeship plushie. Donning the traditional design of Folktails faction, this beaver will surely be a cool addition to your collection. “Just look at its shiny teeth! The impressive tail! That fancy yet detachable farmer hat!”
With that said, you can further support the devs toward Timberborn’s 1.0 release on Steam by purchasing this plushie. It is currently 112% funded on Makeship’s website, displaying the fans’ love for this game! You can still get one of these huggable and hardworking creatures on Makeship for $29.99 USD!
How Much Wood Would A Woodchuck Chuck?
City builder simulation Timberborn was released in September 2021, and the devs continuously released minor and major updates to keep the gameplay fresh and exciting. Currently, the game enjoys 25,317 Overwhelmingly Positive reviews on Steam. The previous major update is about adding a new mechanic and a challenge to the game via the Badwater update. With the Wonders of Water update, you have more options to control the direction of Badwater in your maps and make a designated area for its extraction.
At its core, you control a group of beavers and reinvigorate the land by natural restoration or industrial revolution depending on your chosen faction. Harvest wood and crops to feed your workforce and create simple huts to largest districts. Every part of the map is your domain, as beavers can move and build structures on land and water. Despite this goofy description, you will find a deep gameplay loop as you plan the most intricate settlements or districts for your beavers.
The game is 20% off on Steam for $19.99 USD until Oct 25. However, a price increase will be applied on Oct 24 from $24.99 USD to $34.99 USD. The devs attribute this increase to the large number of changes the game has undergone and the doubling up of their team’s size. Grab the chance to get a copy for a much lower price right now! Sharpen your teeth and get to work in Timberborn!
