UFO 50 Just Got Released And Gets High Ratings

50 single and multiplayer games in one package

A Large Collection Of All Kinds Of Genres

Platformers, Shoot Em’ Ups, Puzzles, Roguelites, RPGs, And More

Let the days of NES and Famicom games come back to you in this wave of nostalgia, brought to you by UFO 50! As the title states, UFO 50 features 50 full-fledged 8-bit games, both single-player and multiplayer, for the price of one. None of these games are minigames or microgames—each of them has its own opening title screen and ending credits to gun for. The collection is packed with games from different genres, from small arcade-style games and brain-cracking puzzle solving games to large open-world adventure platformers and RPGs that could take hours to finish. There’s definitely something for everyone.

The lore of the game states that all 50 of these games were created by a fictional obscure 80s video game company that had ideas ahead of its time—and you’re one of the ones to discover this amazing treasure trove of video game goodness! All of the games are instantly yours from the start, there’s no need to unlock anything through progression. Mossmouth, the developer team, stated that they wanted to look back to the experience of going to a friend’s house and taking a look at their game library and collections. Jump in and out of the games at whim, there’s a lot of them to explore!

UFO 50 Gets High Scores From Critics

The game has been in the making for nearly nine years, with its very idea being conceived back in 2016 with two of the team members. It’s been a long time coming, but it was a good wait, as the game received positive reception from critics and players alike! Metacritic gives it a whopping 91, joining the ranks of other highly-ranked games on the site like Balatro, Animal Well, and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. It’s the same for another rating site, OpenCritic, where UFO 50 is awarded a score of 90.

This isn’t the first time a game from Mossmouth received high ratings—the studio collective’s first game, Spelunky, has numerous accolades and positive reviews, winning PC Gamer’s Game of the Year in 2013 and the Independent Games Festival, as well as garnering a Very Positive review rating on their Steam page from over 14k reviews. Its sequel, Spelunky 2, was also similarly praised, also wearing a Very Positive rating on its Steam page from 17k reviews. Mossmouth definitely does not disappoint, and UFO 50 is an addition to another great game from the studio.

UFO 50 is available on Steam for 10% off, at an introductory price of $22.49 USD! A great deal for immense amounts of fun.
