Shueisha Games with developer Hakababunko announced in the Nintendo Indie World Showcase that their upcoming mystery adventure game Urban Myth Dissolution Center is slated for a February 2025 release! This announcement follows a hearty and positive response during their stint in Gamescom just the previous week. “We couldn’t be happier with the reception Urban Myth Dissolution Center received during gamescom last week, and we’re so honored to be a part of Nintendo’s Indie World ahead of us bringing the game to PAX West this week, in addition to the newly announced release date. We encourage everyone to look at the latest trailer in the showcase, and we look forward to meeting new fans in Seattle this weekend!” said Shueisha Games’ Global PR Manager Tomoya Tanaka.

Urban Myth Dissolution Center is exactly what it says on the packet—players will follow protagonist Azami Fukurai as she partners up with Ayumu Meguriya, Level S Psychic and the head of the titular urban legend detective agency and fellow colleague Jasmine, where they solve cases involving the occult. Azami wears special glasses that allow her to see the supernatural, as well as others’ intentions and thoughts. Together, the trio must examine and learn about cursed relics, dimensional anomalies, and otherworldly creatures to solve the strange happenings surrounding the cases.

The game will play out in an episodic fashion, each with its own case themed on several urban myths that are popularized through the internet. Players will directly control Azami as she goes out into the field to collect evidence and posts on social media that tie in to the myths, as well as background information on the client that requested the investigation. Solve the cases, but be careful of the consequences…

Urban Myth Dissolution Center will be available to play on PC through Steam and Nintendo Switch in February 2025. Additionally, it will be localized into several different languages, such as Japanese, English, Korean, Traditional and Simplified Chinese, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Russian, Brazilian Portuguese, Arabic, and Hindi.
