Lead the Cult of Cthulhu in this upcoming city-building strategy game, Worshippers of Cthulhu! The demo is now free-to-play on the game’s Steam page for anyone who wishes to lead a terrifying Cthulhu faith. This Lovecraftian-themed city-building game puts you into the shoes of a “herald of cosmic rebirth,” to share the greatness of Cthulhu and eventually summon the titular Great Old One for the brighter future of mankind.
Embark on the path of leading thousands of Cthulhu followers, where your decisions will greatly influence the future of the cult and the destinies of the faithful. They can toil, conquer, or devote themselves to dark rituals. You can proclaim dogmas and carry out celebrations, engaging with servants of Cthulhu who deserve the recognition. As your followers grow in size, so will your Lovecraftian empire. Establish your cult across multiple islands by conquering these lands, and making them productive colonies for the main city. All these efforts equal one thing—acquire enough belief and resources to awaken The Great Old One.
But Cthulhu is not the only Lovecraftian entity out there—Dagon, Hastur, Azathoth, and other Lovecraftian eldritch beings can be engaged with through dark rituals, unlocking profound knowledge and supernatural blessings that can be utilized to further expand and increase your city’s overall power. This includes converting the non-believers to your cause…or just eliminating them from the face of the planet. Conquer, pillage, sacrifice, or convert—it’s your call.
Again, Worshippers of Cthulhu is available on Steam for budding cultists to try out. While there is no specified game release as of yet, the developers are hoping for a release in 2024.
